Bhopal: Oil India NSTFDC MoU marks an important step toward improving healthcare services in tribal areas of India. In a significant development, Oil India Limited (OIL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Scheduled Tribes Finance and Development Corporation (NSTFDC) to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in tribal regions of Madhya Pradesh. The collaboration focuses on upgrading health facilities in Rajgarh district, an aspirational district of the state.

The initiative will improve access to quality healthcare for tribal communities by providing modern medical equipment and emergency facilities at local health centres. The move reflects the Government of India’s commitment to inclusive development and better healthcare access for underserved tribal populations.

Details of Oil India NSTFDC MoU

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Oil India Limited (OIL) and National Scheduled Tribes Finance and Development Corporation (NSTFDC) on 12 March 2026 at the corporate office of OIL in Noida.

NSTFDC operates as a Section 8 company under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India. The organisation works to promote economic and social development among Scheduled Tribe communities through financial assistance and development programs.

This collaboration aims to strengthen the healthcare infrastructure in tribal regions and ensure better medical access for vulnerable populations.

₹86.27 Lakh Sanctioned for Healthcare Infrastructure

Under the agreement, Oil India Limited has sanctioned ₹86.27 lakh for improving healthcare services in Rajgarh district of Madhya Pradesh, which is recognised as an Aspirational District under the Government of India’s development programme.

The funds will be used to strengthen facilities at:

  • Community Health Centres (CHCs)
  • Primary Health Centres (PHCs)

These centres serve as the first point of medical care for rural and tribal communities.

Medical Equipment and Emergency Services to Be Upgraded

The project will provide advanced medical infrastructure and equipment to improve healthcare delivery in the region.

Key facilities to be added include:

  • Ambulances for emergency transport
  • Life-care and diagnostic equipment
  • Ventilators
  • CPAP machines
  • BiPAP machines
  • USG (Ultrasound) machines

These upgrades will significantly enhance emergency response capacity and diagnostic services at government health centres.

Oil India NSTFDC MoU: Focus on Tribal and Underserved Communities

The initiative is specifically designed to support tribal communities and other underserved populations living in remote areas.

Many tribal regions face challenges such as:

  • Limited healthcare infrastructure
  • Lack of advanced medical equipment
  • Poor emergency transportation services

By strengthening health centres and providing modern medical devices, the project will help improve treatment quality and reduce healthcare gaps in rural areas.

Part of Government’s Inclusive Development Vision

The collaboration reflects the broader vision of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs to improve living standards and ensure equal access to essential services for tribal communities.

It also aligns with the Government of India’s goal of building a “Viksit Bharat”, where tribal populations have access to quality healthcare, education, and economic opportunities.

Public sector companies like Oil India are increasingly supporting such initiatives through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes aimed at community welfare and social development.
