The operation focuses on ensuring the safe movement of India-bound ships carrying crude oil, LNG, and LPG. By deploying advanced warships and providing real-time navigation support, India is taking proactive steps to secure its energy lifelines and protect its economic stability.

Operation Urja Suraksha is a strategic maritime security mission launched in March 2026 by the Indian Navy.

Its main goal is simple: It ensure safe delivery of energy supplies to India
This includes protecting ships carrying:
- Crude oil
- Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)

- LPG carriers Pine Gas and Jag Vasant
- Carrying around 92,000 tonnes of LPG
- Other vessels like Shivalik, Nanda Devi, and Jag Laadki also secured
This shows the operation is already delivering results.
