The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has officially started the recruitment process for the post of Director (Finance) at National Fertilizers Limited (NFL), a key public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. The post will fall vacant on March 1, 2026, following the superannuation of the current Director, Hira Nand, on February 28, 2026.
In a notification issued on Monday, PESB invited eligible and experienced professionals to submit their applications by June 16, 2025. The appointment is a critical leadership position, with the selected candidate expected to oversee NFL’s financial strategy, planning, and management.
Hira Nand, the incumbent Director (Finance), has held the post since June 22, 2022, just five days after his appointment was formalised. He previously served as the Executive Director at NFL, bringing over three decades of experience in financial and corporate affairs within the company.
NFL is one of India’s largest producers of urea and plays a pivotal role in ensuring the country’s fertilizer supply chain. The Director (Finance) is part of the core leadership team and a member of the company’s Board of Directors, responsible for formulating financial policies, budgeting, and resource mobilization.
The PESB notice outlined qualifications, experience, and age criteria in accordance with public sector norms, with preference given to candidates from finance, accounting, or related fields, and experience in senior roles within public or private sector enterprises.
