Gandhinagar, Gujarat: On the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Samrat Samprati Museum at Koba in Gandhinagar. The museum is dedicated to Jain history, the life and rule of Emperor Samprati, and the timeless message of non-violence (Ahimsa).
Preserving Values, Culture, and Knowledge
Addressing a public gathering, PM Modi emphasized that Koba Tirth serves as a hub for value preservation, cultural enrichment, and knowledge dissemination. He described the museum as a confluence of three key principles – study, spiritual practice, and self-discipline, which he called the foundation of Indian civilization.
He stressed that maintaining and propagating this sacred confluence is a collective duty for all citizens.

Correcting Past Oversights
The Prime Minister noted that previous governments had neglected ancient manuscripts, a mistake that his administration is now rectifying. He highlighted that the museum’s message is globally significant, promoting peace, non-violence, and cultural heritage for the benefit of all humanity.
Showcasing Emperor Samprati’s Legacy
PM Modi explained that Emperor Samprati followed the path of Ahimsa and truth, unlike other rulers who relied solely on weapons and power. The museum is designed to present India’s rich cultural heritage and identity to the world, reflecting the principles of Jainism and India’s ancient traditions.
He added, “In today’s world of instability and unrest, the values preserved here are vital not only for India but for humanity as a whole.”
Gujarat Leadership Hails the Initiative
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel noted that the museum will display over 2,000 ancient artifacts, offering citizens and visitors a direct connection to India’s cultural and historical heritage.
Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi said the museum will inspire the younger generation to appreciate and engage with their historical and cultural roots.

PM Modi’s Broader Visit to Gujarat
Later in the day, PM Modi also inaugurated the Kaynes Semiconductor OSAT Plant at Sanand GIDC, Ahmedabad, marking a major milestone in India’s semiconductor journey. The facility will produce advanced Intelligent Power Modules (IPMs) for automotive and industrial applications, with each module comprising 17 chips and supplied to California-based Alpha and Omega Semiconductor (AOS). Once all phases are completed, the plant will have the capacity to produce 6.33 million units per day.
Additionally, PM Modi will lay the foundation for development projects worth over Rs 19,800 crore in the newly formed Vav-Tharad district before departing for Assam later in the evening.
