Gurugram: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID), a Maharatna Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Power, has enhanced cancer care infrastructure in North India by donating state-of-the-art medical imaging systems worth approximately ₹12.25 crore to the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital & Research Centre (HBCHRC), New Chandigarh, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

Advanced Medical Imaging Systems to Boost Clinical Capabilities

The donated equipment includes a 128-slice CT Scan system and a Bi-Plane Digital Subtraction Angiography (DSA) system, both designed to enable high-precision imaging, early cancer detection, and support for complex minimally invasive procedures. The handover ceremony was attended by senior officials from POWERGRID and HBCHRC.

These advanced systems are expected to significantly enhance the hospital’s diagnostic and treatment capabilities, enabling faster and more accurate medical imaging for cancer patients.

As of December 31, 2025, POWERGRID has commissioned and is operating 287 substations, over 1,81,894 ckm of transmission lines, and 5,93,016 MVA of transformation capacity. Leveraging advanced technologies, automation, and digital solutions, the company has maintained an average transmission system availability of over 99.84%, underscoring its operational excellence.
