New Delhi: In a landmark initiative promoting gender inclusivity, POWERGRID has inaugurated its first Pink Substation in the Western Region-II at Pirana. The 400/220 kV Pirana Substation will be operated and led entirely by women executives, reflecting POWERGRID’s unwavering commitment to women empowerment in the power sector.
Women Leadership at the Helm
The Pirana Substation is spearheaded by Archana Kumari, Deputy General Manager (DGM), who will oversee all operations and management of the facility. This initiative ensures that women professionals play a central role in the planning, execution, and functioning of one of the region’s key power infrastructure assets.
Rajesh Kumar Gupta, Regional Head of Western Region-II, officially inaugurated the Pink Substation in the presence of senior POWERGRID officials. He praised the initiative as a step toward fostering inclusive workplace culture and empowering women in traditionally male-dominated sectors.
