New Delhi: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has announced the promotion of Gyaneshwar Prasad Payasi and Pradeep Kumar to the position of Executive Director (ED), effective April 1, 2026. These appointments place them as senior management personnel, one level below the company’s Board of Directors.

Profile of Gyaneshwar Prasad Payasi
Gyaneshwar Prasad Payasi, now Executive Director of the CMD Coordination Cell, brings over 30 years of extensive experience in the power sector. His expertise includes:
- Project execution and management
- PESM and CMD coordination
- Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB)
- Asset management and monetization
An engineering graduate with BE and ME degrees from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee and a PGDM from Management Development Institute Gurgaon, Payasi has led several strategic initiatives, including power evacuation projects in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh and key asset monetization programs.
Profile of Pradeep Kumar
Pradeep Kumar, appointed as Executive Director of CTDS-AP, has nearly three decades of experience in:
- Asset management
- Substation maintenance
- Consultancy and infrastructure projects
A graduate of Dayalbagh Educational Institute, he joined POWERGRID in 1994 as an Executive Trainee. He is currently leading a major Government of India initiative in Arunachal Pradesh focused on strengthening transmission and distribution (T&D) systems, a critical project for regional power infrastructure.
