New Delhi: The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has announced key central deputation postings for two senior officers, strengthening leadership in critical government departments.
Prashant Dubey Selected for Central Deputation
Prashant Dubey (IDAS: 2012), recommended for central deputation by the Department of Defence, has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Consumer Affairs.
According to the DoPT order issued on Monday, December 1, 2025, Dubey will serve under the Central Staffing Scheme for a tenure of four years from the date he assumes charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
This appointment aligns with the government’s objective of placing talented and experienced officers in key administrative roles to enhance efficiency and policy implementation.
Rekha Lohani Appointed IG in CRPF
Senior IPS officer Rekha Lohani (IPS: 1997: OR) has been appointed as Inspector General (IG) in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on a lateral shift basis. She is currently serving as IG in the Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPR&D).
As per the DoPT order issued on November 28, 2025, Lohani’s appointment in CRPF is effective from the date she assumes charge and will continue until January 15, 2028, or until further orders.
Her central deputation tenure is counted from January 16, 2023, when she took charge as IG, BPR&D, for a five-year term. She will now continue on deputation in her new role, providing strategic leadership to the CRPF in key operational and administrative areas.

These appointments reflect the government’s ongoing efforts to deploy experienced officers in critical central roles, ensuring continuity, accountability, and effective administration across departments.
