A group of 182 IAS officers of the 2021 batch had the privilege of meeting President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre on Monday. They are currently posted as Assistant Secretaries in various Union Ministries and Departments.
While addressing them, the President highlighted the unique nature of their service in terms of authority, role, and responsibility. She said that it is not a service but a mission to take India and its people forward under the framework of good governance. During the interaction she shared that serving the nation and its people is their destiny and making India an inclusive and developed nation is their collective destination.
The President said that a compassionate civil servant whose heart beats for the poor and the underprivileged is a true civil servant. She urged them to make efforts to understand the link between ‘file to field’ and also between ‘field to file’.
Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology, MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space Dr. Jitendra Singh was also present on the occasion. He said that the IAS officers joining service today are blessed with the privilege of being the architects of India at 2047 when the nation celebrates 100 years of independence.
“The vision for India@2047 for a ‘future ready India’ includes competency framework for the Civil Services under Mission Karmayogi which envisages to prepare civil servants for the future by making them more constructive, enabling, energetic, innovative, proactive, professional, progressive, transparent and technology enabled”, said the DoPT Minister.
