The long-awaited promotion of Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officers to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) is set to be completed this month. According to sources, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) is likely to convene the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meeting in the coming week. This year, 19 RAS officers are expected to be promoted to the IAS cadre.
Officers from the 1997 and 1998 Batches in the Race
The promotion process includes senior officers from the 1997 and 1998 RAS batches. Selection will be based on Annual Confidential Reports (ACRs) and merit. Earlier, the state government had sent a list of 57 eligible officers to the Centre, out of which 19 are expected to be finalized for promotion.

Transfer List Expected This Month
Following the promotions, the state government is also likely to release the long-pending transfer list of IAS officers later this month. Currently, over two dozen IAS posts are vacant in the state, and many officers are handling additional charges. The induction of newly promoted IAS officers is expected to strengthen the administrative framework.
