Mangaluru — In a proud moment for KIOCL Limited, its Mangaluru Plant Unit was recognized with the ‘Outstanding Official Language Implementation Award’, reaffirming its commitment to the effective use of Hindi in official communications and operations.
The award was presented during the 76th Half-Yearly Meeting of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (TOLIC), Mangaluru, held on Monday, July 28, 2025, at the Union Bank of India’s Zonal Office.

A Ceremony That Celebrated Commitment
The meeting was presided over by Mr. Rajendra Kumar, Chairperson of TOLIC and Head of Union Bank’s Mangaluru Zone. The award was formally presented by Mr. Anirban Kumar Biswas, Deputy Director (Implementation), Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, who served as the Chief Guest.
He reviewed the progress of Hindi implementation across government bodies, banks, and PSUs before announcing KIOCL’s Mangaluru Unit as the recipient of the prestigious award.
Representing KIOCL at the event, Mr. P. Palani, Chief General Manager In-charge, graciously accepted the award. He was joined by Mr. Chetan Kumar Shetty, Nodal Officer (Official Language) and Assistant GM (HR & IR), and Mr. Rupesh Kumar, Official Language Coordinator and Assistant Manager (HR), who were also acknowledged for their pivotal roles in leading the language initiative.
The event was smoothly coordinated by Mr. Krishna Yadav, Chief Manager at Union Bank.

The recognition generated a surge of appreciation and encouragement across KIOCL’s workforce. The company’s senior leadership congratulated the entire Official Language team, whose sustained efforts led to this honor.
KIOCL’s Mangaluru Unit has stood out for making Hindi an integral part of day-to-day official functioning. From organizing language-related activities to ensuring proper compliance with government policies, the unit has taken a structured and inclusive approach.
