JSW Energy announced on Saturday that its subsidiary, JSW Neo Energy, has secured a letter of award from NTPC to develop a 700 MW solar project. This latest project win elevates JSW Energy’s total locked-in generation capacity to 13.3 GW, with 3.1 GW dedicated to solar power, as per a filing with the BSE.
JSW Neo Energy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary, has been granted the Letter of Award for establishing a 700 MW ISTS connected Solar Power Project by NTPC Limited, according to the filing.
The company’s current installed generation capacity stands at 7.2 GW, with plans to increase it to 9.8 GW by FY’24. Aiming for significant growth, JSW Energy targets to achieve 20 GW generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by 2030. Additionally, it has set an ambitious goal of attaining Carbon Neutrality by 2050.
