NMDC Limited announced on Saturday that it achieved its best-ever performance for October since its inception. The company reported a production of 4.07 million tonnes (MT) and sales of 4.03 MT of iron ore, surpassing previous October records. This marks a 3.8% increase in production and a remarkable 17.15% growth in sales compared to the same period last year.
This achievement brings NMDC’s cumulative figures for FY25 to 21.55 MT in production and 23.84 MT in sales, highlighting the company’s commitment to meeting the rising demand for iron ore in the country.
Mr. Amitava Mukherjee, NMDC’s CMD (Additional Charge), credited this success to the team’s dedication, stating, “These record-breaking figures, with a 3.8% growth in production and a 17.15% increase in sales, reflect the effectiveness of our strategic decisions, technological advancements, and long-term focus. We continually evaluate our performance, and with this momentum, we’re confident we can exceed our achievements this fiscal year.”
The impressive October production of 4.07 MT and the collaboration between RITES and NMDC for rail connectivity works have played key roles in this success. The increase in production volumes is a result of careful mine planning, while the strong sales figures are driven by heightened demand and consistent customer offtake.
NMDC is committed to enhancing production capacity, ensuring a reliable iron ore supply, and adopting environmentally sustainable practices, reinforcing its dedication to responsible mining. The corporation remains focused on contributing to the growth of India’s mining sector, aligning with its mission to foster a robust future for the industry.
