State-owned power major NTPC announced on Thursday that its step-down subsidiary, NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd, has commenced the commercial supply of 30 MW of electricity from its 150 MW solar project in Mesanka, Gujarat.
In a regulatory filing, NTPC stated, “The second part capacity of 30 MW out of the 150 MW Gujarat Solar PV Project in Mesanka, Gujarat, of NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd, a step-down subsidiary of NTPC through its subsidiary NTPC Green Energy Ltd, is declared on commercial operation with effect from 00:00 hours of December 11, 2024.”
The first phase of the project, with a capacity of 60 MW, was commissioned and began commercial operations on July 29, 2024.
With this addition, NTPC Group’s total installed and commercial capacity has now reached 76,560.68 MW, further solidifying its position as a leader in India’s energy sector, spanning both renewable and conventional power generation.
