The Maharatna PSU, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), has launched several key progressive Human Resource (HR) initiatives to strengthen the culture of sustained learning and development in the organisation.
SAIL’s Chairman, Mr. Amarendu Prakash, launched the pioneering Work from Other than Workplace (WoW) initiative, allowing an employee to work from other than the workplace on undertaking a prescribed self-development activity.
Mr. Prakash stated, “The WoW policy, which is a novel initiative of SAIL, aims to enable our employees to focus on more strategic roles while being away from the designated workplace and strive to invest in their professional development and healthy work-life balance.”
SAIL collaborated with LinkedIn Learning Hub to facilitate its employees to undertake self-paced learning to upskill their knowledge base on various topics. The PSU aims to bring about sustained professional development of its workforce via this coveted collaboration.
It must be mentioned that SAIL has recently been certified as a “Great Place To Work” by the Great Place To Work Institute, India. Such accolades reflect SAIL’s commitment to being a respected and sought-after employer.
