ONGC Finance Chief Yogish Nayak Takes Over as MRPL Executive Director (Finance)

Mangalore: Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) has announced the appointment of Yogish Nayak S as Executive Director (Finance), a key position within the company’s senior management team. His appointment marks a return to MRPL’s top finance leadership, underscoring the company’s commitment to experienced and homegrown leadership in strategic financial roles.

Nearly Three Decades of Financial Expertise

A Chartered Accountant and a commerce graduate from the prestigious St. Aloysius College, Mangalore, Shri Nayak brings with him nearly 30 years of experience in corporate finance. Since joining MRPL in September 1995, he has climbed the ranks through various leadership positions across:

  • Corporate Accounts
  • Treasury and Investments
  • Budgeting & Costing
  • Taxation
  • Capital Investments
  • Marketing Finance

He was instrumental in several transformative initiatives at MRPL, including the merger of ONGC Mangalore Petrochemicals Ltd (OMPL) into MRPL and the initial SAP implementation.

Leadership Across MRPL and ONGC

Yogish Nayak has served as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of MRPL during two tenures: from July 2024 to March 2025 and earlier from April 2022 to May 2023. Currently, he is on secondment to ONGC, serving as Chief – Corporate Finance, where he oversees critical domains such as corporate accounts, budgeting, taxation, investor relations, project appraisal, and more.

He is also a Board Member and Audit Committee Member of Mangalore SEZ Ltd, representing ONGC as a nominee director.

Key Role in Coastal Vision 2030

Beyond the corporate sphere, Nayak has contributed to public policy and regional development. He was nominated by the Government of Karnataka to the Vision Group for Coastal Development Vision 2030, aimed at driving investment and holistic development in areas such as maritime infrastructure, fisheries, cruise tourism, wellness tourism, banking, and education in the coastal region.
