Sanjaya Kumar Satapathy, currently serving as the Chief Human Resource Business Partner at Tata Steel Ore Mines & Quarries Division, has been appointed as Director (Human Resources) at Advanced Weapons & Equipment India Limited (AWEIL), a defence public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Defence.
According to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved Satapathy’s appointment following a recommendation by the Department of Defence Production.
Satapathy is an accomplished HR professional with nearly two decades of experience across public and private sector enterprises. He has held various leadership positions, including Chief Human Resource Officer at Tata Steel Mining Limited and Tata Steel Technical Services Ltd. Since December 2024, he has been serving as the Chief Human Resource Business Partner for the Ore Mines and Quarries Division at Tata Steel.
He also has significant experience in the oil and gas sector, having served as Deputy HR Manager at Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) from June 2005 to February 2016.
An alumnus of BJB College, Bhubaneswar, Satapathy holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Berhampur University, Odisha.
