New Delhi: Rear Admiral Jaswinder Singh, Director (Liner & Passenger Services) at Shipping Corporation of India Limited (SCI), has been assigned additional charge of Director (Bulk Carrier & Tanker) [BC&T] from July 1, 2025, for a period of three months or until further orders.
The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways conveyed the appointment following approval from the Competent Authority. The dual charge reflects Rear Admiral Singh’s extensive maritime leadership experience and ongoing contribution to India’s flagship shipping enterprise.

Expanding Strategic Leadership at SCI
Since 2023, Rear Admiral Singh has led SCI’s Liner and Passenger Services segment, a key vertical in the company’s operations. He is also a Director on the Board of SCI Bharat IFSC Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of SCI, and Sethusamudram Corporation Ltd.
His new role as Director (BC&T) will place him at the helm of another critical operational arm, overseeing India’s maritime logistics in bulk cargo and tanker transport—sectors vital to national trade and energy security.
Distinguished Naval Career
Prior to joining SCI, Rear Admiral Singh had a decorated career in the Indian Navy, holding several prestigious leadership roles, including-
- Chief of Staff, Southern Naval Command
- Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Foreign Cooperation)
- Principal Director at Naval HQ, where he formulated ship specifications and oversaw equipment induction
- Commanding Officer of Destroyer, Corvette, and major Training Establishments
Academic and Professional Distinction
Rear Admiral Singh is a Postgraduate in Business Administration, an alumnus of the Naval Postgraduate School, California, and the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington. He has been awarded the Nau Sena Medal for distinguished service in the Indian Navy.
His deep operational insight, leadership credentials, and international exposure are expected to bring further strength to SCI’s evolving portfolio, especially as the corporation continues its strategic transformation.
