Former IAS officer Satya Gopal has resigned as Chairperson of the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) of Punjab. Mr. Gopal was on leave for sometime and no official reason has been given for his resignation. However, Governor Banwarilal Purohit has accepted the resignation.

Mr. Gopal retired from the service in July 2022 and was then posted in the Delhi Government. In December 2022, he joined as RERA Chairman after Aam Aadmi Party formed the government in Punjab.

Let it be noted that the former bureaucrat is also under the scanner of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs for having allegedly given financial benefits to two electricity distribution companies in Delhi in 2021.
