Chandigarh: In a strong show of solidarity and service, the Punjab State IAS Officers Association has pledged a contribution of ₹5 lakh to the Punjab government’s Mission Chardi Kala, a state-driven initiative aimed at supporting families impacted by the recent devastating floods.
Mission Chardi Kala: A Thoughtful Diwali Gesture
On Tuesday, a delegation of senior IAS officers met with Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and formally communicated their collective decision to observe a simple Diwali this year. Instead of traditional celebrations, the officers will channel their festive budget toward the flood relief and rehabilitation campaign.
The association emphasized that this symbolic gesture reflects their shared responsibility to help those suffering the aftermath of natural calamities.
Mission Chardi Kala: Continued Support for Recovery Efforts
This is not the association’s first contribution. Earlier this year, the officers had already donated one day’s salary to aid those affected by the floods. The current donation, they said, is meant to further bolster the state’s ongoing recovery initiatives.
Mission Chardi Kala, spearheaded by the state government, is a public-oriented campaign that mobilizes resources to rebuild critical infrastructure, restore livelihoods, and support displaced households across the flood-hit regions of Punjab.
Mission Chardi Kala: CM Mann Lauds the Initiative
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann welcomed the gesture, calling it a “model of cooperative governance,” and highlighted the importance of collaboration between civil services, institutions, and the public to ensure swift and effective rehabilitation.
“The strength of Punjab lies in its spirit of unity. When officers, institutions, and citizens come together, we can overcome any adversity,” said CM Mann.
Mission Chardi Kala: Standing with the People
The IAS Officers’ Association reiterated its long-term commitment to stand by the citizens during times of crisis and expressed readiness to contribute to relief and rehabilitation efforts in any capacity required.
