RailTel Corporation of India Ltd., a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways, has entered a strategic five-year partnership with Microsoft to drive artificial intelligence (AI) innovation in the government sector. This collaboration aims to establish an AI Center of Excellence (CoE), positioning RailTel as a leading AI-driven systems integrator and contributing significantly to the Digital India mission.
Key aspects of the partnership include:
- AI Skilling Initiatives: Microsoft’s AI National Skills Initiative and Enterprise Skilling Initiative will upskill RailTel employees in advanced digital, cloud, and AI technologies.
- Joint AI Solutions Development: RailTel and Microsoft will co-develop AI solutions, with Microsoft providing technical guidance for product development.
Mr. Sanjai Kumar, CMD of RailTel, emphasized the partnership’s transformative potential, stating, “By leveraging Microsoft’s expertise in cloud, productivity, and AI, combined with RailTel’s resources, we aim to enhance innovation and efficiency across public sector entities. The AI CoE will enable us to deliver advanced solutions that address evolving customer needs while advancing the Government of India’s Digital India mission.”
Microsoft Chairman and CEO Mr. Satya Nadella underscored the collaboration’s significance during his recent keynote address in New Delhi, highlighting its potential to impact various sectors of the Indian economy.
