New Delhi: RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. has entered into a strategic collaboration with Tata Communications Limited to enhance India’s digital infrastructure backbone and accelerate the country’s AI-driven transformation.
The partnership brings together RailTel’s vast national telecom network and Tata Communications’ global digital capabilities to build a resilient, secure, and future-ready digital ecosystem.
Advancing AI-Ready Infrastructure
Under the collaboration, RailTel’s nationwide optical fibre network will integrate with Tata Communications’ advanced digital fabric, which includes network services, cloud platforms, omnichannel communication solutions, and cybersecurity capabilities.
The partnership aims to:
- Modernise and optimise network infrastructure
- Strengthen cybersecurity and risk mitigation frameworks
- Enable secure and sovereign cloud adoption for sensitive workloads
- Enhance customer experience and digital service reliability
- Deploy AI-enabled platforms to improve network visibility, resilience, and performance
This integration is expected to create a strong foundation for AI, cloud computing, and intelligent digital services across sectors.
Boost for Government and Citizen Services
Government departments, public sector undertakings (PSUs), banks, and enterprises using RailTel’s network are likely to benefit from faster connectivity, improved system resilience, and enhanced data security.
Citizen-facing services such as railway Wi-Fi, public broadband, surveillance systems, and digital governance platforms are also expected to witness improved performance and reliability under the collaboration.
