The Rajasthan government has made temporary administrative arrangements by handing over the additional charge of five important IAS officer posts to other senior officials.
The move has been taken to ensure there is no disruption in governance and administrative work while the concerned officers remain engaged in election-related duties.
Election Duty Delays Joining of Newly Posted Officers
Several IAS officers who were recently transferred to new positions have been appointed as election observers for assembly elections in five states.
Because of these election responsibilities, they have not yet been able to take charge of their new assignments.
To avoid delays in decision-making and government work, the Personnel Department issued fresh orders assigning temporary responsibilities to other officers.
Officers Given Additional Responsibilities
Under the new arrangement, Alok Ranjan, currently serving as the District Collector of Jodhpur, has been given the additional responsibility of Divisional Commissioner, Jodhpur.
In Jaisalmer, Rashmi Rani, who is serving as the Chief Executive Officer of the Zila Parishad, has been assigned the charge of District Collector.
For the Barmer district, the additional charge of Collector has been handed to Sushil Kumar Yadav, who is presently the Collector of Balotra.
Similarly, in Baran district, Additional District Collector Bhanwarlal has been given charge as collector.
In Bundi, Additional District Collector Ramkishor Meena has been entrusted with the collector’s responsibilities.
Government Aims to Prevent Administrative Disruption
Officials said the temporary arrangement became necessary after recent transfers at the divisional commissioner and collector levels coincided with election observer duties.
The government wants to ensure that administrative decisions, district-level monitoring, and implementation of welfare schemes continue without interruption.
According to sources, the arrangement is only temporary and will remain in force until the concerned IAS officers complete their election assignments and formally join their new postings.
