A recent disclosure of assets by IAS and IPS officers in Rajasthan to the central government’s Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has revealed interesting details about their property holdings.
Notably, IAS officers Tina Dabi and her sister Ria Dabi have declared that they possess no property in the country, neither houses nor plots of land. However, Tina Dabi’s husband, IAS officer Pradeep Gawande, owns ancestral properties in Latur, Maharashtra.
In contrast, IPS officer Dinesh MN’s wife reportedly owns 3 acres of land in Bengaluru, valued at ₹8.25 crore. One unnamed IAS officer declared an annual rental income of ₹58 lakh from their properties.
The information was part of the mandatory asset declarations submitted by Rajasthan cadre officers. The report highlights the properties owned by several top and well-known bureaucrats in the state, including their value and income generated.
Key highlights from the property declarations of some officers:
- Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant: Owns a flat in Gurugram, two flats in Jaipur, agricultural land in Jaipur and ancestral property in Nainital. His declared annual income from properties is ₹25.30 lakh.
- Shikhar Agarwal: Has significant property holdings, including a plot and a resort with 10 cottages in Udaipur, two farmhouses and a mixed-use plot in Jaipur, and a shop in Jaipur. He earns approximately ₹40 lakh annually from the resort and ₹18 lakh from the shop.
- Alok Gupta: Owns plots and flats in Jaipur, including one on JLN Marg with a high monthly rental income of ₹1.70 lakh.
- Kunjilal Meena: Declared residential properties in Jaipur in his and his wife’s names.
- Vaibhav Galriya: Has ancestral property in Bhilwara, several plots and a flat in Jaipur, and a flat in Bhiwara, some jointly owned with his wife.
- Praveen Gupta: Owns flats in Jaipur and Gurugram, with a monthly rental income from the Gurugram flat.
- IAS Couple Akhil Arora and Aparna Arora: Jointly own flats and plots in Jaipur and a flat in Gurugram with an annual rental income of ₹5.5 lakh, along with a house in Bapu Nagar generating ₹5.40 lakh in annual rent.
- Anand Kumar: Owns a plot near Delhi, plots in Jaipur, and commercial space in a Jaipur mall generating an annual income of ₹23.99 lakh.
- Kuldeep Ranka: Has a residential plot in Jaipur and agricultural land in his wife’s name.
- Abhay Kumar: Declared ancestral land in Bihar and a flat in Delhi (in partnership with parents).
Top IPS Officers’ Property Details:
- DGP Utkal Ranjan Sahu: Owns ancestral land and residential plots in Bhubaneswar and residential plots and a flat in Jaipur.
- Biju George Joseph: Has a house and residential plots in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, and a house in Jaipur.
- Dinesh MN: His wife owns a significant amount of land in Bengaluru, gifted and purchased, valued at ₹8.25 crore, in which his wife and her parents have shares. He also has ancestral land in Ramanagara, Karnataka.
- Ravi Prakash Meharda: Owns a house under construction in Jaipur.
- VK Singh (ADG, SOG-ATS): Has ancestral land in Bihar, a house and plots in Jaipur, and land in Patna, some jointly owned. He earns rental income from some of these properties.
The report also notes that several IAS officers did not disclose the current market value of their properties, instead providing the purchase price or stating “as per DLC rates.” In such cases, the purchase price was considered as the current value for the report.
