New Delhi: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Wednesday directed the state energy department to increase electricity generation to meet growing future demand. The move aims to ensure uninterrupted power supply for domestic, agricultural, and industrial consumers.
Ensuring Reliable Supply During Peak Seasons
Chairing a review meeting on the 2025–26 energy budget, CM Sharma emphasized the need for smooth electricity supply during peak demand in the upcoming Rabi season. He also instructed officials to strengthen the transmission network to enhance efficiency and reliability.
Focus on Renewable Energy and Loss Reduction
The Chief Minister reviewed the progress of the PM Surya Ghar Scheme and other renewable energy initiatives. He called for measures to boost revenue, reduce transmission and distribution losses, and curb power theft across the state.
Collaboration with Gas Suppliers
In parallel, OIL and GAIL renewed their 15-year gas supply agreement from Rajasthan’s fields, reinforcing the state’s energy security and supporting industrial and domestic gas requirements.
Leadership and Oversight
Energy Minister Heeralal Nagar and senior officials attended the review meeting, ensuring alignment between policy directives and operational execution to meet Rajasthan’s growing energy needs.
