Coimbatore: The Ramakrishna Mission Technical Campus in Coimbatore is set to get a major infrastructure boost with REC Limited funding the construction of a new Workshop and Classroom Building worth ₹9.06 crore. The foundation stone for the project was laid on Wednesday as part of REC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative aimed at strengthening technical education and skill development in India.
The ceremony was attended by Mr Narayanan Thirupathy, Independent Director, REC Ltd., and Mr Immanuvel Antony Doss, Chief Manager, REC Ltd.
Modern Facility to Enhance Technical Education
The upcoming building will significantly upgrade the institute’s academic and training infrastructure. Designed to offer advanced learning spaces and improved workshop facilities, the structure aims to support high-quality technical education, hands-on training, and youth skill enhancement.
This CSR intervention aligns with REC’s continued efforts to promote skill development, youth empowerment, and employability across India.
REC’s Role in National Infrastructure & Power Development
REC Limited, a Maharatna CPSE under the Ministry of Power, is a key financial backbone for India’s power and infrastructure sectors. Registered with the RBI as an NBFC, PFI, and IFC, REC finances –

The company is also the nodal agency for several states under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) and is implementing the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
