The new company has an authorized and paid-up capital of Rs 5 lakh each and has been notified to the stock exchanges by the public sector undertaking.

Incorporation and Ownership Structure

Balsane Power Transmission Limited has been set up under the provisions of Section 2(87) of the Companies Act, 2013, classifying it as a subsidiary of REC Limited. Project Background and Objective

The incorporation follows the Government of Maharashtra’s allocation of an intra-state transmission project on October 3, 2025. RECPDCL has been appointed as the Bid Process Coordinator (BPC) to oversee the selection of a successful bidder for the establishment of a 765/400/220kV AIS Balsane project in Dhule district.

Balsane Power Transmission Limited will manage all project-related responsibilities, including assets and liabilities, until the selection of the winning bidder under the Tariff Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) guidelines. Upon completion of the bidding process, the company and its assets will be transferred to the successful bidder to execute the transmission project.

Project Significance

The establishment of the 765/400/220kV AIS Balsane substation is a key step in strengthening Maharashtra’s intra-state transmission infrastructure. The project aims to improve grid stability, facilitate efficient power distribution, and enhance energy evacuation capabilities in the region.
