Gurugram: REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of REC Limited, has handed over the project-specific Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for the Ratle Kiru Power Transmission Project to IndiGrid 2 Private Limited. The handover took place on March 24, 2025, at a ceremony in Gurugram.
IndiGrid 2 emerged as the Transmission Service Provider (TSP) after a successful bid through the Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process conducted by RECPDCL, which acted as the Bid Process Coordinator for the project. The transmission project will be developed on a Build, Own, Operate & Transfer (BOOT) basis.
Mr T.S.C. Bosh, CEO of RECPDCL, formally handed over the SPV to Mr Puneet Singh Chauhan, Vice President & Head (Commercial) of IndiGrid 2 Private Limited. The event was attended by senior officials from RECPDCL, IndiGrid 2, and the Central Transmission Utility of India Limited (CTU).
The Ratle Kiru Power Transmission Project will cover the construction of a 150 km, 400 KV transmission line from Samba (Jammu & Kashmir) to Jalandhar (Punjab), along with a 35 km, 400 KV line connecting Kishenpur (J&K) to Samba. The estimated cost of the project is approximately ₹1,407.44 Crore.
The project is expected to be completed within a 24-month implementation period, and will play a crucial role in improving power transmission infrastructure in the region.
With the transfer of this SPV to IndiGrid 2, RECPDCL continues to support the development of India’s power transmission network and further its commitment to the nation’s growing energy demands.
