Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has appointed retired IAS officer Manoj Kumar Parida as the new Chief Information Commissioner of the Odisha Right to Information (RTI) Commission.
Mr Parida, a 1986 batch distinguished former bureaucrat from the AGMUT cadre, brings extensive administrative experience to lead the commission and further strengthen transparency and accountability in the state.
In addition to Parida’s appointment, three other individuals have been named as Information Commissioners. They are retired IPS officer Pranabindu Acharya, prominent High Court advocate Kalpana Pattnaik, and retired IAS officer Pabitra Mandal.
Together, these appointments aim to bolster the functioning of the Odisha RTI Commission and ensure effective implementation of the Right to Information Act in the state.
The Odisha State Information Commission operates under the Right to Information Act, 2005.
