Richa Verma, a 2012 batch IAS officer of the Himachal Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as the Managing Director of the Himachal Pradesh State Handicrafts and Handloom Corporation.
Verma previously served as the Deputy Commissioner of Kullu, where her efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic—especially in assisting stranded individuals—earned widespread recognition. She has also held the position of CEO of the Baddi Barotiwala Nalagarh Development Authority in Solan district and later served as Director, Land Records, Government of Himachal Pradesh.
Her appointment is expected to bring administrative efficiency and renewed focus on promoting the state’s rich handicraft traditions.
