RINL, a prominent steel manufacturer based in Andhra Pradesh, has appealed to the state government for immediate assistance in resolving a critical supply issue. Coking coal shipments at Adani Gangavaram Port have been stalled due to worker agitation since April 12, severely impacting RINL’s operations.
In a letter addressed to the Visakhapatnam district collector, RINL CMD Atul Bhatt expressed grave concerns over the situation, emphasizing the urgent need for security to facilitate the transportation of essential raw materials. Despite efforts by RINL employees and trade union leaders to engage with the agitating workers at AGPL, the issue persists.
Mr. Bhatt highlighted the failure to implement court orders for the prompt transfer of coal to RINL, urging swift action to mitigate the operational crisis. As a key player in India’s steel sector, RINL’s predicament underscores the broader implications of supply disruptions in the manufacturing industry.
