RITES Limited hosted a full-day workshop on MAITRI (Master Application for International Trade & Regulatory Interface) in Mumbai on Thursday, bringing together key domestic and international stakeholders to explore the platform’s role in simplifying cross-border logistics data exchange.
The event was part of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways’ (MoPSW) initiative, ‘Boosting Ports, Shipping & Waterways: Powering the Blue Economy—Viksit Bharat with Budget 2025’. During the session, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal officially launched the MAITRI logo, marking a major step forward in the platform’s development.
The workshop saw active participation from representatives of MoPSW, Deendayal Port Authority, Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), DP World, AD Ports, GTI, PSA, NSDT, NSFT, and other industry leaders. Discussions covered various aspects, including logistics, shipping operations, customs facilitation, cybersecurity, regulatory requirements, and integration with existing digital frameworks.
A dedicated Q&A session allowed attendees to gain deeper insights into the MAITRI system, emphasizing its potential in improving efficiency, security, and interoperability in the maritime trade sector.
The event highlighted the government’s focus on strengthening India’s maritime infrastructure and reinforcing the country’s position as a global logistics hub through digital transformation and streamlined regulatory processes.
