New Delhi: In a significant development, RITES Limited, a leading transport infrastructure consultancy and engineering firm, has secured a work order worth ₹36.22 crore (excluding GST) from the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC). The order pertains to critical operational and maintenance work at the Mejia Thermal Power Station located in West Bengal.

Scope of Work: Rail Track, Signaling & OHE System Maintenance

According to the regulatory filing submitted by RITES, the scope of the contract includes

  • Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) of railway siding tracks
  • Operation and Maintenance of Signaling & Telecommunication (S&T) systems

These services will support the efficient and uninterrupted functioning of DVC’s thermal power operations at the site.

Project Duration: 730 Days of Execution

The project is scheduled to be executed over a period of 730 days (2 years) from the date of commencement. The contract has been awarded by a domestic entity and does not involve any related party transactions, the company clarified in its filing.

Strengthening RITES’ Energy Sector Portfolio

RITES noted that the order further strengthens its operational presence in the energy sector, particularly in the domain of railway system operations and maintenance.

“This contract reinforces our capabilities and trusted expertise in delivering essential services to the energy and infrastructure sectors,” the company said in a statement.

Part of Broader Strategy to Expand Infrastructure Footprint

This contract adds to RITES’ expanding portfolio of domestic infrastructure projects, aligning with its strategy to broaden its footprint across transportation, energy, and allied sectors.
