New Delhi: Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from South Central Railway for a major railway electrification upgrade project valued at approximately Rs 242.49 crore, according to a recent regulatory filing.
Project Overview: Upgrading to 2×25 kV AT System
The contract involves the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of overhead equipment (OHE) to upgrade the existing 1×25 kV traction system to a 2×25 kV Auto-Transformer (AT) feeding system. The project will also include essential feeder and earthing works along the Ongole (OGL) to Gudur (GDR) section of the Vijayawada Division.
The total coverage spans 154 route kilometers (RKM) or 462 track kilometers (TKM), aiming to modernize railway electrification infrastructure and support enhanced train operations.

Timeline and Execution
The project is scheduled to be completed within 24 months and falls under RVNL’s routine operations. The contract was awarded by a domestic entity and does not involve any related party transactions.
