New Delhi: The Search-cum-Selection Committee (SCSC) under the Ministry of Steel, Government of India, has recommended Mr. T. N. Natarajan for appointment as Director (Commercial) of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL). The decision was made following a high-level selection meeting held on January 9, 2026, in New Delhi, which involved interviews of senior executives from major public sector enterprises.
High-Level Interviews and Shortlisted Candidates
The committee conducted rigorous interviews of 12 senior executives from SAIL, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), and NTPC, evaluating their leadership, commercial acumen, and sectoral expertise.
The shortlisted candidates included:
- Mr. Sanjay Agarwal – ED (CIG), SAIL
- Mr. Siddharth Agarwal – ED & State Head, IOCL
- Mr. Anil Kumar Arora – ED (Marketing Services), SAIL
- Mr. Pravat Ranjan Jena – GM (Commercial), NTPC
- Mr. Sasidhar Vemuri – CGM (Commercial), SAIL (on deputation to RINL)
- Mr. Pankaj Kumar Mathur – CGM (Marketing), CMO, SAIL
- Mr. T. N. Natarajan – CGM (Sales) & Regional Manager, Western Region, SAIL
- Mr. Rakesh Singh – CGM (MM & Marketing), Bokaro Steel Plant, SAIL
- Mr. Pankaj Tripathi – CGM (Sales & Contract Manufacturing), SAIL
- Mr. H. S. Durgapal – CGM (Logistics & Operation), SAIL
- Mr. Niroj Kumar Sharma – CGM (Commercial Directorate), SAIL
- Mr. R. R. Singh – CGM (Sales) & SRM/Bokaro, SAIL
After detailed evaluation, the committee unanimously recommended Mr. T. N. Natarajan for the top commercial leadership role at SAIL. The recommendation will now move forward for formal government approval and official appointment.
