The Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) has partnered with the Hydrocarbon Sector Skill Council (HSSC) by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at boosting skill development in the hydrocarbon industry. The agreement was signed by Atul Sobti, Director General of SCOPE and Governing Body Member of ILO, and SK Bose, CEO of HSSC, in the presence of senior representatives from both sides. The collaboration seeks to address skill shortages and strengthen workforce capabilities in the hydrocarbon and related industries.
During the signing event, Atul Sobti emphasised the importance of continuously upgrading skills in a fast-changing professional landscape. He pointed out that as industries undergo significant changes, particularly with the rise of electric vehicles and the global push for a Just Transition, it is crucial to focus on both existing and emerging skills in the hydrocarbon sector.
SK Bose noted that this partnership with SCOPE aligns with the Prime Minister’s vision of positioning India as a global hub for skill development. He expressed optimism about the MoU’s potential to create a skilled and future-ready workforce.
SCOPE remains committed to fostering learning and development in public sector enterprises (PSEs) through strategic partnerships. This MoU not only targets current skill gaps but also aims to equip workers with the skills needed to meet future demands in the hydrocarbon sector.
