Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij has ordered the Additional Chief Secretray, Rajeev Arora, to find a eligible IPS officer for the next Director General of Police Haryana. The incumbent DGP, Manoj Yadava, has been given an extension.
In a letter sent to ACS Arora, the minister has ordered to send a list of the senior IPS officers to the UPSC to be selected as next DGP of Haryana. As per the reports, the Minister in his letter to the ACS said, “You may note that you shall be held personally responsible for any future legal or any kind of complications in this matter.”
It is to be noted that Manoj Yadava was appointed DGP in February 2019 for a tenure of two years. And, Yadava’s tenure till further orders through an official order released on January 7, 2021.
Supreme Court directions on the police reforms in July 2018 says, the states are required to share a list of senior police officers to the UPSC at least three months prior to the retirement of the incumbent DGP.
