New Delhi: South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) has been awarded the prestigious Green Credit Community Champion Award at the Earth Awards 2026. The recognition highlights SECL’s strong commitment to environmental sustainability, ecological conservation, and community-focused development across its operational areas.
The award, instituted by Net Green Foundation in collaboration with UNESCO India, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, and the Ministry of Jal Shakti, celebrates companies making a significant impact on green initiatives and sustainable community programmes.
Award Ceremony at UNESCO House
The award was presented on March 30, 2026, at UNESCO House, New Delhi. The ceremony brought together leading advocates of sustainability and corporate responsibility.
The honour was conferred by Sardar Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Minister of Industries, Food & Supplies and Environment, Forest & Wildlife, Government of NCT of Delhi. Balkrishna, Managing Director of Patanjali Ayurved, attended as the Guest of Honour, while Benno Boer, Chief of Natural Sciences at UNESCO India, was the Special Guest.
