Bilaspur: South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) inaugurated the ‘SECL Nari Shakti Sports Festival 2025’ at its headquarters in Bilaspur, marking a unique initiative aimed at celebrating women empowerment, fitness, and unity through sports. The two-day festival, scheduled for December 13–14, 2025, is being held at the Vasant Vihar Sports Ground and brings together working women and homemakers on a common platform.
Inaugural Ceremony Highlights Women Leadership
The event was inaugurated by Shashi Duhan, Chairperson of Shraddha Mahila Mandal, who praised the initiative as a pioneering step among Coal India subsidiaries. She emphasized that the festival not only promotes physical fitness but also celebrates women’s energy, leadership, teamwork, and sporting spirit, providing a space for women to showcase their talents and connect with peers.
Sports and Activities Encourage Fitness and Camaraderie
The festival features a wide range of athletic events, indoor games, and fun activities designed to engage participants in healthy competition while fostering camaraderie. The activities aim to highlight the importance of physical and mental well-being among women, encouraging them to adopt fitness as a regular part of life.
Valedictory Ceremony and Felicitation
The valedictory function will take place on December 14, 2025, where Mr. Harish Duhan, CMD of SECL, will felicitate winners and participants for their outstanding performances. The festival reflects SECL’s ongoing efforts to create a supportive environment for women, reinforcing the values of empowerment and inclusion.
