Green Mining in Action

As part of the ceremony, a tree plantation drive was conducted at the site, with senior officials planting saplings to reinforce SECL’s commitment to environmental conservation. The project aims to align mining operations with ecological responsibility, reducing surface impact and promoting long-term sustainability.

Understanding Paste Filling Technology

Paste Filling Technology is a modern, environmentally responsible mining method where underground voids are filled with a specially prepared paste made from mine waste, fly ash, and cementitious materials. The technique offers multiple benefits:

  • Improves underground mine stability and safety
  • Reduces disposal of surface waste
  • Protects local water bodies and minimizes land degradation
  • Supports sustainable mining practices

By adopting this cutting-edge technology at Singhali UG Mine, SECL strengthens Coal India’s vision for safe, innovative, and sustainable coal mining, paving the way for a greener future in the industry.
