Senior IAS officer Arvind Kumar has been removed from his post for allegedly using rude language with fellow officers in a WhatsApp group. Mr. Kumar is an officer of 1985-batch officer and was holding the charge of Additional Chief Secretary, Rural Development Department. He was first forcibly removed from the WhatsApp group of secretary-level officers on Sunday. It is said that he used bad language for a serving civil servant and three former secretaries. After the complaint, the Uddhav Thackeray immediately relived him from the post.
The Chief Minister has also approved a disciplinary inquiry against the senior office. On Wednesday, the General-Administration department also issued a show-cause notice asking why any action shouldn’t be taken against him. The department is led by the CM himself.
Let it be noted that the officer has faced this kind of allegation in the past as well. He has also allegedly used the harsh words against the young officers serving as the Chief Executive officers of Zila Parishads in a WhatsApp group .
