Jammu: Seven Indian Police Service (IPS) officers were among 478 officers and officials awarded the Director General of Police (DGP) Commendation Medal and Certificate for their exemplary service during 2025, according to an official order from the J&K Police Headquarters, Jammu.
The awards recognize exceptional performance, dedication, and contributions to law enforcement across Jammu and Kashmir.
IPS Officers Honoured
The seven IPS officers recognized include a mix of Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs), Superintendents of Police (SPs), and an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP):
- Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs)
- Gurinderpal Singh – Kashmir Zone
- Anayat Ali Choudhary – Kashmir Zone
- Gaurav Sikarwar – Jammu Zone
- Superintendents of Police (SPs)

In addition to the IPS officers, the awards also included 18 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySPs) and numerous other officers and officials across different ranks.
