Amritsar: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has announced a special initiative to honour Sikh candidates who successfully cleared the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination 2025. SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that each successful Sikh candidate will be awarded a cash prize of ₹1 lakh in recognition of their achievement.
The announcement came after the UPSC declared the final results of the Civil Services Examination 2025 on March 6, 2026, recommending 958 candidates for appointment to prestigious services including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and Indian Police Service (IPS).
SGPC Chief Congratulates Successful Candidates
Congratulating the successful candidates, Dhami praised their dedication and perseverance in clearing one of the country’s most competitive examinations.
He noted that achievements in examinations like the UPSC reflect years of disciplined preparation and determination. According to him, the success of these young aspirants is not only a matter of pride for their families but also for the entire Sikh community.
Dhami specifically mentioned candidates such as Simrandeep Kaur and Sanwardeep Singh among those who have brought recognition to the community through their success.
Special Recognition for Simrandeep Kaur
Dhami expressed particular happiness over the achievement of Simrandeep Kaur, who secured the 15th rank at the national level.
He highlighted that she studied at Khalsa College in Patiala, an institution managed by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee. Her success, he said, reflects the strong academic foundation provided by educational institutions run by the SGPC.
SGPC to Support Civil Services Aspirants
The SGPC president also revealed plans to strengthen support for Sikh youth preparing for competitive examinations.
He announced that the committee’s upcoming budget will include a special provision aimed at helping students preparing for administrative services examinations such as the UPSC. The initiative will focus particularly on providing financial assistance to deserving and economically weaker students from the community.
The move is expected to encourage more Sikh youth to pursue careers in the civil services.
Continued Commitment to Education
Dhami emphasised that the SGPC has always prioritised education and youth empowerment. Over the years, the organisation has been involved in supporting educational institutions and providing opportunities for students to excel academically.
He assured that the committee would continue to expand such initiatives to help talented students achieve their career aspirations.
Best Wishes for the Future
Concluding his message, Dhami congratulated the successful candidates and their families for the remarkable achievement and wished them success in their future roles in public service.
He said that the achievements of these young officers will serve as an inspiration for many other students preparing for competitive examinations across the country.
