New Delhi: The central deputation tenure of Stefi Sofi (IA&AS: 2013), currently serving as Deputy Secretary in the National Recruitment Agency (NRA), has been officially extended, according to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).
Extension Approved by ACC
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the extension of Sofi’s deputation beyond March 30, 2026, up to September 30, 2027, or until the completion of her Master’s programme at Kobe University, Japan – whichever is earlier.
Pursuing Higher Studies in Japan
As per the DoPT order, Ms. Sofi is currently pursuing a Master’s in International Studies, Economics, Laws, and Political Science at Kobe University. The extension aligns with her academic timeline, facilitating her continued contribution at the central level while she completes her studies.
Background
Stefi Sofi began her central deputation on March 31, 2022, when she was appointed as Deputy Secretary in the National Recruitment Agency. Prior to the present charge, she was posted as Deputy Director, Office of PDA Airforce, Bangalore Branch. She has done B. Tech in Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE) from NIT Calicut.
A 2013-batch officer of the Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IA&AS), she has been engaged in capacity building and reform efforts in recruitment processes under the NRA.
