New Delhi: In a significant move to reinforce its senior leadership, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna Defence Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, has announced the appointment of three new Executive Directors across critical business units.
The appointments are part of BEL’s ongoing efforts to foster internal talent, strengthen project execution capabilities, and align with future growth strategies across defence electronics and R&D.
Mr. G. Suryanarayana Murthy Appointed Executive Director, Pune Unit
Mr. G. Suryanarayana Murthy, who has been with BEL since March 1988, has been appointed as Executive Director of the Pune Unit. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering and brings with him over 37 years of experience in various capacities. Prior to this elevation, he served as General Manager of the Pune Unit, where he contributed significantly to the growth and modernization of the unit.
Mr. Anoop Kumar Rai Takes Over as Executive Director (CRL), Ghaziabad
Mr. Anoop Kumar Rai, a veteran with 33 years of experience, has been appointed as Executive Director of the Central Research Laboratory (CRL), Ghaziabad. He holds a Master of Engineering degree in Digital Techniques and joined BEL in October 1992. Prior to this appointment, he served as the Chief Scientist at CRL-Ghaziabad, playing a vital role in R&D and technological innovation.
Cdr (Retd.) K Kumar Appointed Executive Director, NS(S&CS)/BG Complex
Commander (Retd.) K Kumar has been appointed as Executive Director, NS(S&CS)/BG Complex. A former Indian Navy officer, he holds a Master of Technology in Communication Engineering with a specialization in Underwater Electronics, and also a Post Graduate Diploma in Management. He joined BEL in May 2008 and was serving as General Manager, NS(S&CS)/BG Complex before his promotion. His experience in strategic naval systems is expected to bolster BEL’s capabilities in network-centric warfare systems.
Strengthening BEL’s Vision for Technological Excellence
These appointments come at a time when BEL is ramping up production and R&D in line with the Government of India’s ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative. The newly elevated Executive Directors are expected to play a crucial role in achieving BEL’s mission to deliver cutting-edge, indigenously developed defence systems and technologies.
