The Tamil Nadu government has reassigned four senior IPS officers to key positions in a recent administrative reshuffle, aimed at enhancing governance and law enforcement across the state.
Mr. Rajeev Kumar (1992-batch IPS officer), the incumbent DGP of the Crimes Against Women and Children Division in Chennai, has been appointed DGP for Aavin, Chennai. This transition underscores the focus on leadership shifts in critical sectors.
Mr. Vanniyar Perumal (1992-batch IPS officer), previously DGP of the Village Police Force, has been reassigned as DGP of Railways, taking charge of safety and law enforcement across the state’s rail network.
Ms. Mallika (2006-batch IPS officer), who served as IG for Traffic and Road Safety in Chennai, will now oversee the Investigation Division at the State Human Rights Commission as IG. This move reflects the importance of leadership in protecting human rights.
Mr. Abhishek Dixit (2006-batch IPS officer), previously DIG of Railways in Chennai, has been promoted to IG and assigned to the Traffic and Road Safety Division, highlighting his contributions and readiness for higher responsibilities.
Additionally, Mr. Muthamil, earlier SP in the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Department for Aavin has been transferred as SP of Civil Supplies CID, Chennai.
These changes reflect the government’s commitment to optimizing law enforcement and public service delivery across Tamil Nadu.
