In a significant reshuffle, the Tamil Nadu government has made several important appointments to bolster its administrative framework.
On Tuesday, additional chief secretary and 1992 batch IAS officer Pradeep Yadav was assigned as secretary to Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, following an order issued by Chief Secretary N. Muruganandam. Additionally, K. Gopal has been appointed as the new secretary of the Higher Education Department.
Rajesh Lakhoni, also an IAS officer of 1992 batch, will take over as the Commissioner of Revenue Administration and Disaster Management, succeeding P. Amudha, who held the position in an additional capacity.
In further developments, Chief Electoral Officer Satyabrata Sahoo will temporarily assume the role of Secretary for Animal Husbandry, Dairying, Fisheries, and Fishermen Welfare until further notice. C. Vijayaraj Kumar, currently Secretary of BC, MBC, and Minorities Welfare, will now also oversee Human Resources Management, replacing Nanthakumar, who has been appointed as Chairman and Managing Director of TNEB and Tangedco.
V. Amuthavalli has been designated as Secretary for the Handlooms, Handicrafts, Textiles, and Khadi Department. Dharmendra Pratap Yadav is now the Chairman and Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Small Industries Corporation Limited. S. Swarna will serve as the State Project Director of Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan, while E. Sundaravalli and R. Lilly will take on the roles of Commissioners of Collegiate Education and Social Welfare, respectively.
Lastly, Vishnu Chandran has been appointed as the Director of Employment and Training, and R. Lalitha will become the Director of Textiles.
These appointments are expected to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of governance in Tamil Nadu as the government continues to focus on developmental initiatives across various sectors.
