Bhopal: On the occasion of Teachers’ Day 2025, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced a major benefit for the state’s teaching community, declaring that around 1.5 lakh teachers will now be entitled to fourth-grade promotion pay scale benefits. The announcement was made during the state-level Teachers’ Felicitation Ceremony held at the Golden Jubilee Auditorium of RCVP Noronha Academy of Administration and Management, Bhopal.
14 Teachers Honored with State Awards
At the event, 14 teachers who demonstrated outstanding performance in their field were conferred with state-level awards. The ceremony was graced by Governor Mangubhai Patel, Sports Minister Vishwas Sarang, School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh, Minister of State Krishna Gaur, MLAs, and senior departmental officials.

₹330 Crore Transferred for School Uniforms
In a significant welfare measure, the Chief Minister also initiated the transfer of ₹330 crore directly into the bank accounts of 55 lakh students (Classes 1 to 8) to provide for school uniforms. The transfer was executed digitally through a single-click mechanism, ensuring transparency and efficiency.
Emphasis on Guru-Shishya Tradition
Highlighting the eternal bond between teacher and student, CM Yadav invoked examples from Indian tradition, recalling the relationship of Lord Rama with Guru Vishwamitra and Lord Krishna with Guru Sandipani. He emphasized that while technology and machines can achieve much, only teachers can instill values and culture in society.

Government’s Commitment to Teachers
Addressing the gathering, CM Yadav congratulated the honored teachers and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to education. He noted that despite the financial impact of implementing the new pay scale—expected to add an estimated ₹117 crore burden on the state exchequer—the government was pleased to extend the benefit, as it strengthens the teaching workforce and acknowledges their contribution to nation-building.
