Telangana: Retd. IAS BV Rao Made Chairman, Commission for Backward Classes

Retired IAS officer Busani Venkateshwara Rao has been appointed as the Chairman of the Telangana State Commission for Backward Classes (BCs).

The commission is tasked with conducting a thorough enumeration of people from the Backward Classes across the state to determine appropriate reservation quotas for these communities in local governing bodies. Mr. Rao is a 1993-batch retired IAS officer who had earlier served as the Commissioner of the state’s fisheries department.

In support of Mr. Rao’s leadership, IFoS officer B Saidulu has been appointed the commission’s secretary.
