UAE Navy Chief Maj Gen Humaid Mohammed Abdullah Alremeithi (Commander of the United Arab Emirates Naval Forces), is on an official visit to India from 07–09 July 2025, with the objective of strengthening maritime cooperation and deepening bilateral naval relations.
Tributes and Ceremonial Welcome
The visit commenced on 08 July with Maj Gen Alremeithi laying a wreath at the National War Memorial in New Delhi, honouring the sacrifice of Indian soldiers who laid down their lives in the line of duty. He was then accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour, reflecting the importance India places on this high-level engagement.

Strategic Naval Discussions
The UAE Navy Chief held a bilateral meeting with Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), where both sides engaged in fruitful discussions on enhancing structured naval engagements, training cooperation, and joint maritime initiatives. The dialogue underscored a mutual commitment to maintaining peace and security in the strategically vital Indian Ocean Region (IOR).
Meeting with Chief of Defence Staff
Maj Gen Alremeithi also called on India’s Chief of the Defence Staff, further reinforcing military-to-military ties and exploring avenues for enhanced operational collaboration between the armed forces of both countries.

A Key Milestone in Bilateral Naval Relations
The ongoing visit is seen as a significant milestone in India-UAE naval relations, aimed at fostering greater interoperability and advancing shared maritime interests. It reflects the growing importance of bilateral defence cooperation in maintaining regional maritime stability and addressing emerging challenges in the Indo-Western Pacific corridor.
